Week of September 7

We hope you all enjoyed your long Labor Day weekend. We managed to squeeze in a lot of fun in our short week.

Lots of important information came home in binders this week. We will be posting reminders in our Facebook page about Fall Family Picnic, Penny War, and Picture Days! Please contact us if you have questions.

We read 10 Apples Up On Top. We even counted 10 apples stacked on our friend Trudy's head.

In Circle Time we practice lots of important things : the alphabet, colors, shapes, the weather, the days of the week, the first day of creation. We also learn about our Star Student and they get to be our special helper.

One of our favorite songs at Music Time is Going on a Lion Hunt. Our little ones LOVE to act out the song.

For our Art Center we exercised our fine motor skills to glue tiny pom pom apples to make an apple tree.

In our Sensory Center we used red playdoh to make apples. We added a cinnamon stick for a stem as well as leaves and a worm.

For more fine motor work we stacked "Apple" Jacks on our characters from the 10 Apples Up on Top book.

For a Skill Center we worked with the color red. We stamped circles with red watercolor paint on an apple.

We are enjoying socializing with our friends during snack time and quiet reading time.

Due to the hot weather this week, we spent a most of our recess time inside. Puzzles were a popular activity!

Our Star Students next week are Tensley & Morgan.

Our color next week is Blue.

Penny War starts Monday, September 14. Bring your pennies to school to support Luke's Heart. Click Here for more information.

Thursday, September 17, we will dismiss at 10:45 so that families can join us across the street for the Fall Family Picnic.

Week of August 31

Our color this week was RED.

We red the book The Little Red Hen and Llama Llama Red Pajama.

Our Star Students enjoyed their special chair at Circle Time. They also helped out with our ABCs. They gave Trudy, our class elephant, her first hug of the morning, and they were our line leader when we left the classroom. Our Star Students brought show and Tell items to share with the class too.

For our Fine Motor Center, we played with "bread scented" playdoh, rolling pins, and cookie cutters.

For our Art Center, we made little red hens.

Our Sensory Center was full of RED!

We sang songs and dances during Music Time and Circle Time.

After Snack Time, we quietly enjoy a book while our friends finish up. Mrs. Lana reads a story when all our friends have joined us.

When it was nice we went out for recess. Thursday it was so hot, we decided to play inside.

Our little ones are learning to help clean up toys, throw away their trash after snack, and they love to help wipe off tables after our craft. We want them to learn good habits and be proud of taking care of their classroom.

Thanks for taking a peek at our week!

Reminders:

- There will be no school on Monday due to the Labor Day holiday
- T-shirt orders are due by the 10th
- Please return any outstanding enrollment paperwork you have
- Please let us know when you begin actively potty training your little one. We want to support your little one and give them the reminders they need to be successful

Week of August 24

We had a great first week in Mrs. Andrea & Mrs. Lana's Jumpstart classes!

Our main focus this week was helping our little ones feel comfortable in our classroom. We are getting acquainted with new friends and a new routine.

Our books this week were Llama Llama Misses Mama and First Day of School.

In Circle Time, we sit on our circle mats on the rug. We each give our class elephant "Trudy" a good morning hug. We sing along with our ABCs, colors, shapes, and count to 10 while Mrs. Andrea points at them on the wall. We fold our hands to pray. Then we finish up with a couple of songs.

Sensory Center: We played in colored rice.

Art Center: We painted our hand prints.

Fine Motor Center: We played with Mr. Potato Head and Shape Sorters.

We are learning to stay in our seats at snack time. We are practicing using good manners by saying "More, please" and "Thank You".

After snack time, we snuggle up with a book in our reading corner.

We were lucky to have great weather this week. We were able to spend time at the playground. Our little ones enjoyed the playground equipment. We had some fun visits by butterflies and geese flying overhead. They picked flowers and played with bubbles.

During our music time we went on a fun "Lion Hunt" and danced to the Hokey Pokey and Head, Shoulders, Knees, & Toes.

Next week, our focus will be the color RED and the first day of creation.
Emma and Chandler will be our Star Students. Star Student information was sent home in your binder.

Thank you for sharing your little ones with us. If you have questions about anything, please let us know!
