Week of October 12

For Circle Time our Question of the Day was "Do you have a cat?".

For our Art Center we painted pumpkins. We used sparkly ORANGE paint on our knuckles to make the shape of pumpkins.

For our Gross Motor Center we raked leaves. We gathered them all up and put them in a basket.

For our Exploration Center we played with Loose Parts. This activity lets our little ones use their imagination to play however they want with a variety of materials.

For our Skill Center we starting learning scissor skills. We learned how to hold them and how to open and close them. We practiced with playdoh scissors. We are trying our best to keep our thumb on top.

For our Outdoor Learning Center we dug in the pebbles and scooped and poured sand. We added a big sunflower to our nature box. We had fun pulling out the seeds.

We found a toad outside this week. Everyone got to take a look. We love the critters we see outside. So far we have seen butterflies, crickets, wasps, hawks, a bunny, vultures, and a toad. Sometimes we can hear the cows mooing from across the street.

We are enjoying watching friendships develop between our little ones.

Week of October 5

Our Question of the Day this week was "Do you like bananas?" We put our names on the board for either "Yes bananas." or "No thank you bananas." Most of us like bananas.

Before we have our snack, we help clean our tables. We throw our towels in the trash can, and then we pray together.

When we finish with our snack, we throw away our trash, put our cup in the sink, and find a book.

For our Art Center this week we made YELLOW sunflowers. We painted our flower. Next we used our pincher grasp to place sunflower seeds in glue. They looked so happy hanging in our classroom!

For our Fine Motor Center we played with pegs. We stacked them, placed them in the mat, and talked about our colors.

For our Sensory Center we played with YELLOW glass bees and made flowers on the light table.

For an outside Fine Motor Center we removed corn from the cob. It was hard work, but we were able to fill up a grain truck!

Mrs. Kristie taught our Tuesday/Thursday class about cicadas. We got to explore their empty shells.

For a Skill Center we spent some time outside in the sun working on our writing skills.

We spent time in our Outdoor Learning Center. We added the corn we harvested to our nature table.

For a Gross Motor Center we did a little Yoga.
