Week of November 14

Our color this week is BROWN.

We read the book Brown Bear Brown Bear by Eric Carle

For our Art Center we painted BROWN bears. We teach our little ones to "drag and lift" our paintbrush when we paint.

For a Skill Center we played with color sorting bears. We practiced matching the patterns.

For a Fine Motor Center we worked on our scissor skills. We are learning to hold them correctly to cut playdoh.

For another Fine Motor Center we strung beads and buttons. This is a great activity for building our bilateral coordination. It helps us to get both hands working together to complete a task.

Week of November 7

 Our Color was Brown

Our Science was Birds.

At Circle Time we read the book Five Silly Turkeys and identified feathers of many colors.

For our Art Center we made turkey tails. We used liquid water colors in Red, orange, brown, and yellow. We used pipettes to drip the paint onto coffee filters. The tails turned out so colorful and pretty.

For our Play Center we practiced for Thanksgiving meal. We set the table with food and dishes.

For our Skill Center we colored Brown color sheets and turkey placemats. The placemats are perfect for our Thanksgiving dinner.

For our Fine Motor Center we arranged colored feathers into colanders.

For another Fine Motor Center we put pom poms inside "turkey" bottles. Some of our little ones even used chunky tweezers to pick up the pom poms.

We made sure to get plenty of time outside to take advantage of the nice weather.

Week of October 31

 Our color was Black.

Our science is Fall.

You're little ones are SO sweet and we love spending time with them each week.

Before Circle Time each day we have a quick Morning Meeting. We review or talk about Social or Emotional things, classroom rules, or anything that might help our class relations. This week we read the book My Words Roar! by Mary DiPalermo. The book talks about controlling when you talk, how loud you talk, and the things you say. It was a great reminder for our little ones that when the teacher is talking they should be listening. In the book, they say Keep Silent Sweetie K.I.S.S. We Kiss our finger to remember to Keep it Silent Sweetie.

For our Art Center we painted with black paint and monster trucks.

For our Sensory Center we played with dump tucks and black beans.

For our Fine Motor Center we played with Flextrack and cars.

For another Fine Motor Center we played with Mr. Potato Head and Bristle Blocks.

For a group center we played in silk leaves while listening to fall songs, and talking more about fall.
