Week of February 18

Our shape this week was RECTANGLE.

For our Art Center we made a name train. We used rectangles and the letters of our name to make a train. We are learning to use our glue stick correctly. Glue is for sticking. It is not a crayon to color.

For our Play Center we built wooden train tracks and drove our trains.

For our Fine Motor Center we stacked RECTANGLE Jenga blocks.

For our Skill Center we traced RECTANGLES with crayons.

The library lady came to visit from the Evansville Public Library. She read books and taught us songs.

Week of February 11

Our Shape this week was HEART.

We read the book Porcupine Valentine by Aaron Zenz.

For our Art Centers we did some painting. We used liquid water color paint on card stock paper. Our little ones were surprised to see the crayon resist hearts appear as they painted.

For a Skill Center we practiced paper snipping. We used a brown paper porcupine made of construction paper for our porcupine. We gave him a haircut with our scissors. We are learning how to keep our thumbs up when we cut. It's hard to remember!

For another Skill Center we traced hearts with dry erase crayons.

For our Sensory Center we played with playdoh. We used rolling pins to flatten the dough and heart shaped cookie cutters to cut our hearts.

We had a fun time sharing Valentines with our friends.
