Week of December 2

Our color this week was GREEN.
We read the Christmas Story from The Beginner's Bible.

At Circle Time we decorated a felt Christmas Tree. We used felt ornaments of all our colors. Everyone got to name a color and place it on our GREEN tree.

For a Fine Motor Center we sorted erasers. We used chunky tweezers to separate snowmen and Santas.

For our Play Center we decorated a Christmas tree.

For our Sensory Center we played in GREEN split peas. We had lots of red pom poms mixed in. We used spoons, scoops, and GREEN pipes to play with the peas.

For our Art Center we painted craft sticks brown. We are using them to make a special ornament.

Our Christmas Program will be Wednesday, December 18. Our Monday/Wednesday students will arrive at normal time. Our Tuesday/Thursday class will arrive at 10:00. Our program will begin at 10:30. The program will be livestreamed on our website at http://live.bluegrassumc.org/  Additionally, the program will be available in the archives to watch again. Please feel free to share this link with friends and family who are not able to attend the show.

Week of November 18

Our color this week was BROWN.
Our Science theme this month is birds.
Our Question of the Day was "Do you like chocolate?" Someone might have been a fibber.

We read the book Give Thanks Each Day by Steve Metzger.

For our Sensory Center we played in Thanksgiving Dinner. We had seed corn and lots of yummy food in our bin.

For our Art Center we made a Indiana Corn decoration. We used cotton swabs to dab on paint in orange, yellow, and BROWN paint. dot.. dot... dot. When they were dry we tied them together with raffia.

For a Fine Motor Center we played with feathers. We poked them in a colander and talked about all the beautiful colors.

For another Fine Motor Center we decorated pipe cleaner trees. We added colorful button "leaves" to our trees.

We made Bird Feeders from a 2 liter bottle and some wooden spoons. We went outside and filled them up with bird seed. We hung them in our outdoor classroom outside our window.

Mrs. Ruthie brought us a big bag of corns cobs. We had fun shucking the corn. It was hard work, but our little ones did a great job!

Indoor recess can be a challenge to keep interesting, but these boys love to play some basketball.

We have had some questions about what items we could use for our classroom. We do have a wish list of things we would love for indoor recess and outdoor learning. Here is a link to our Amazon Wishlist [here] .
