Our Colors this week were PINK & PURPLE.
We read the book If You Give a Pig a Party by Laura Numeroff.
For our Art Center we painted PINK puffy icing onto PURPLE cupcakes. We made out puffy paint by mixing glue, paint, and shaving cream. Our little ones got to experiment with a new material. They used their fine motor skills to manipulate the puffy paint on the paper. It looks like just a lot of fun, but they were learning and working hard!
For our Skill Center we colored a PINK cake and a PURPLE cupcake.
For our Fine Motor Center we played with stacking puzzles. One puzzle was a bakery puzzle and the other was animals. We tried to see how high we could stack them without falling. They used their problem solving skills to decide how to balance the pieces. They worked their hand eye coordination as they connected the pieces.
For our Play Center we played bakery. We baked and served cookies. Then, we sold our baked goods in our cafe.
We had a special fun visit from Mrs. Stacy this week. Mrs. Stacy is a cheer coach and one of our Preschool teachers. She brought in some fun equipment from the gym and taught us some tumbling. The kids had a great time and wore themselves out with this fantastic gross motor workout.
We were sad this week that our sweet friend Hadleigh is moving to another state. We took lots of time to remember our fun times and to say goodbye. All our little ones helped to make a card for her.
This was a big week for our class. We also had Chapel. We learned about the story of the birth of baby Jesus.
