Week of December 7

Our little ones are getting excited about Christmas!

This week our color is GREEN.

During Circle Time we decorated our felt tree with ornaments in different colors. We practiced our colors as we took turns adding ornaments.

We read Llama Llama Holiday Drama by Anna Dewdney and The Gingerbread Mouse by Katy Bratun.

For our Art Center we used our fingerprints and paint to make secret gifts for Mom & Dad.

For our Sensory Center we played in a bin of split green peas.

For a Fine Motor Center we made Christmas lights by winding green yarn around paper Christmas bulbs.

For our Dramatic Play Center we decorated and undecorated a Christmas tree. We worked together with our friends to make a beautiful tree.

For a Fine Motor Center we made a Nativity scene with stickers. 

We have been busy in our Music Center practicing for our Christmas program. We can't wait to sing our songs for you on December 16.

Week of November 30

Our color this week is PURPLE.

We read the book Peanut Butter and Cupcake by Terry Border. 

We learned a new day of creation this week. We now know that on Day 1 God made the day and the night. Day 2 God made the big blue sky. Day 3 God made the land and the sea. And Day 4 God made the sun and the moon. We have a fun song to help us lean how God made the world and all of us.

For our Art Center we made "jelly toast". We used shiny purple paint and spread it on our paper bread with spoons.

For our Fine Motor Center we played with chain links. We worked on adding and removing links from the chain.

For another Fine Motor Center we practiced using a button. We used a ribbon and button and added felt squares. We also used crazy straws and added felt squares.

For our Sensory Center we played with flubber Mrs. Lana made. It was stretchy and fun to mold and play with.

Our color next week is GREEN.

The class Christmas program will be on Wed December 16. M/W students will arrive at normal time. T/Th students should arrive by 10:00. The program begins at 10:30. We have been working hard on our songs for the program.
