Week of April 23

This week our shape was DIAMOND. A DIAMOND is like a kite.

For our Art Center we made kites with diamonds. We covered them with a cupcake liner. We glued them to our paper with a string and added felt clouds.

For our Skill Center we worked on our End of Year books. We are creating a book that summarizes what we learned in Jumpstart this year.

For a Fine Motor Center we put Bananas on a Monkey. We counted bananas and tried to balance them.

For a SKill Center we worked with Tanagram puzzles. We practiced recognizing shapes and making pictures with them.

We took a great trip across the street to visit the big Preschool! Our little ones got to tour several classrooms. One day we were able to play on the big playground. The other day it was too muddy so we played in the gym. They all had a great time!

Week of April 17

This week our shape was OVAL.

For our Art Center we painted birds nest. We filled our nest with an oval baby bird and momma bird.

For our Skill Center we worked on counting and hand coordination making dots.

For our Fine Motor Center we stacked circles to make a bunny hole. We dropped bunnies in the hole and watched them plink their way to the bottom.

Our Mon/Wed class got to take their turn outside this week. We used spray bottles to squirt our names with water. We also drew with chalk on the sidewalk.

Week of April 10

Our shape this week was OVAL.

For a Fine Motor Center we worked on balancing eggs. We put a straw in playdoh and balanced eggs on the top.

For a Skill Center we chose our favorite shape and colored it.

For another Skill Center we matched egg halves by shapes and colors.

For our Art Center we made an Easter craft. We colored an Easter egg. We attached the egg and a cross to paper plates. The egg opens to reveal the cross of Jesus.

We were lucky to get to spend some time outside this week. We strengthened our hand muscles spraying water on our name. We also drew with chalk on the sidewalk.
