Week of September 21

We went to the sea for BLUE week.
Emmett and Ryleigh were our Star Students.

During Circle Time we sing a Hello song to welcome our friends, stretch, and work out our wiggles.

We read One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish and The Pout-Pout Fish in the Big-Big Dark.

For our Art Center we also worked on our fine motor skills. We used eye droppers to apply blue water colors to coffee filters. We will add sea creatures to our ocean scene next week.

One of our Fine Motor Centers was making an ocean scene with stickers. When our little ones use stickers they work on their hand control and pincher grasp. These skills will help them with pencil control and hand writing later on.

For our Skill Center our little ones sorted Colored Gold Fish Crackers by color. They might have eaten just a few.

For our Sensory Center Mrs. Lana made us some great blue play dough. We added sea creatures and decorations. Working with play dough helps to strengthen our hand muscles.

We also added some challenge activities this week. We worked on a Fine Motor Challenge of lacing with Jellyfish. We played a shape matching game as a Skill Challenge.

Next week we will focus on the color YELLOW.

Week of September 14

Blue was our color this week.
We read the book The Little Blue Truck.

For our Sensory Center, we played with monster trucks in pinto beans.

Our Fine Motor Center was a big hit. We played with blue cars. We drove them on roads around a play mat.

For our Skill Center, we matched colored Pom poms to colored trucks.

In our story, the little blue truck got stuck in the mud. For our Art Center, we painted our own muddy blue trucks.

It was such a nice day Wednesday this week, we decided to paint the fence. We filled our bucket with water and our little ones had a blast painting the playground fence.

Every day during music time we learn new songs and dances.

Reminder:
- School Pictures Sept 23 & 24
- Ryleigh and Emmett are the star students for next week.

Week of September 7

We hope you all enjoyed your long Labor Day weekend. We managed to squeeze in a lot of fun in our short week.

Lots of important information came home in binders this week. We will be posting reminders in our Facebook page about Fall Family Picnic, Penny War, and Picture Days! Please contact us if you have questions.

We read 10 Apples Up On Top. We even counted 10 apples stacked on our friend Trudy's head.

In Circle Time we practice lots of important things : the alphabet, colors, shapes, the weather, the days of the week, the first day of creation. We also learn about our Star Student and they get to be our special helper.

One of our favorite songs at Music Time is Going on a Lion Hunt. Our little ones LOVE to act out the song.

For our Art Center we exercised our fine motor skills to glue tiny pom pom apples to make an apple tree.

In our Sensory Center we used red playdoh to make apples. We added a cinnamon stick for a stem as well as leaves and a worm.

For more fine motor work we stacked "Apple" Jacks on our characters from the 10 Apples Up on Top book.

For a Skill Center we worked with the color red. We stamped circles with red watercolor paint on an apple.

We are enjoying socializing with our friends during snack time and quiet reading time.

Due to the hot weather this week, we spent a most of our recess time inside. Puzzles were a popular activity!

Our Star Students next week are Tensley & Morgan.

Our color next week is Blue.

Penny War starts Monday, September 14. Bring your pennies to school to support Luke's Heart. Click Here for more information.

Thursday, September 17, we will dismiss at 10:45 so that families can join us across the street for the Fall Family Picnic.
