Week of October 23

Our color this week was ORANGE.

We read If You You're Spooky and You Know it by Aly Fronis.

For our Art Center we made bats. We used our pincher grasp to sprinkle glitter onto glue on our bats. We put orange eyes in the glue too. Our bats look so fun hanging upside down in our classroom.

For our Skill Center we colored orange pumpkins. We used short crayons to help us transition to correct hand position. 

For our Sensory Center we played with orange slime. Our little ones loved poking and squishing the slime.

For a Play Center we decorated Jack-o-lanterns. We put felt faces onto our felt pumpkins.

We had another visit from the Library Lady this week. She came on Wednesday and Thursday. She read us some fun fall stories. Of course, she also taught us some fun new dances.

After snack, we read books. Our little ones are learning to find a book and look at them with their friends. We love the friendships that are developing.

Our Halloween parties will be October 30th & 31st at 10:30. We hope that parents can joins us for the fun! Thank you for all the donations for the parties!

Week of October 16

Our color this week was ORANGE.

We talked about Firemen this week. We read a book about how to have a fire drill.

For our Art Center we made a fire picture. We used glue and tissue paper to make a red, orange, and yellow fire. We added blue tissue for the water the fireman was using to put out the fire.

For a Fine Motor Center we worked our hand muscles while playing fireman. We used spray bottles to spray water on paper flames to put out a fire.

For another Fine Motor Center we strung large beads on string.

For our Gross Motor Center we practiced a fireman obstacle course. We crawled under a table cloth and used our balancing skills to walk on "rocks".

We had a great visit from the Scott Township Fire Department and Sparky the Fire Dog.

Halloween parties will be October 30th & 31st at 10:30 in the classroom. Parents are welcome to attend. We have a donation list posted outside the classroom. If you wish to donate a supply for the party, you can sign up for something. Our little ones can wear a costume for the party as long as it is bathroom friendly.
