Week of January 18

Our shape this week is STAR.

Our science this month is WEATHER.

Our Bible story this month is Moses.

For our Art Center we painted STARFISH. We painted with orange, red, and yellow paint on bubble wrap. Then we pressed our STARFISH into the paint. God made the birds that fly and the fish in the sea.

For our Skill Center we worked on all kinds of prewriting. We practiced drawing horizontal and vertical lines, tracing our first letter of our name, and holding our crayon correctly.

For our Science Center we explored different types of weather. We made a tornado in a bottle and a snowstorm in a jar.

For our Play Center we played with all sorts of ocean creatures. God made the birds that fly and the fish in the sea.

 

We found a little more time for play in the artificial snow. They love it!

Week of January 11

 Our color this week is WHITE.

Our shape this week is CIRCLE.

Our Science this month is WEATHER.

Our Bible Story this month is MOSES.

For our Art Center this week we made melting snowmen. We are still learning how to use glue sticks. We carefully placed all the parts of our snowman just where we wanted them.

For our Skill Center we explored magnetic letters on cookie sheets. We tried to find the first letter to our name. We are discovering that letters all have different names and sounds.

For our Science Center we learned about rain. We played in water with toy clouds. we let them fill up with water and watched the water rain down.

For our Exploration Center we played with loose parts. We built bridges and habitats for winter animals. We experimented with the different materials to see how we could play with them.

For our Sensory Center we played with artificial snow and penguins. We had fun covering and uncovering them in the snow.

For a Fine Motor Center we strung beads and buttons. It is good for our hand eye coordination.
