Week of November 15

 Our color this week was BROWN.

Our Science theme was BIRDS.

At Circle Time we learned about robins. We learned how the mama robin builds a nest out of sticks. She lays an egg in her nest and takes care of it. When the baby hatches, the mama searches for worms to feed her babies. When she comes to the nest, the babies open their mouths up wide! We looked at feathers and decided they were soft and fluffy... but they are also pokey. 

For our Art Center we mad a robin's nest. We used a brown crayon and colored in circles to make a nest. Then we glued a blue egg in our nest.

For our Skill Center we played with color matching birds. We put the mama and babies in the matching color nest. We also practiced lining them up by size. 

For our Sensory Center we used a magnetic wand to dig in black beans to find pipe cleaner "worms".

Week of November 8

 Our color this week was Brown.

For our Skill Center we colored BROWN coloring sheets. 

For our Constructions Center we played with loose parts.

For our Art Center this week We painted Turkey Tails with liquid water colors. When they were dry, we added the turkey body.

For our Outdoor Learning Center we checked out how our pumpkin is changing. We also picked corn off the cob and tried to fill up our pumpkin shells. 

We had so much fun watching a tractor in the field at recess!!

Week of November 1

 Our color this week was BLACK.

We did a lot of Fine Motor work this week!

For a Fine Motor Center we put stickers on black paper. Stickers are a great activity for our hands. They help us with dexterity.

For another Fine Motor Center we practiced snipping paper with scissors. We are working on getting our hands strong to open and close them. We  are also trying to remember to keep our thumb up.

For a Skill Center we colored a BLACK coloring sheet.

For a Creative Center we played with loose parts. 

For our Outdoor Learning Center Mrs. Christy busted open our pumpkin. We had fun exploring what was inside. We also counted the seeds.
