Week of November 16

Our color this week was PINK!

We read If You Give a Pig a Pancake by Laura Numeroff and Pink! by Lynn Rickads.

For our Art Center we made cupcakes. We used glue and shaving cream paint to make icing then added a pom pom cherry.

For our Sensory Center we made ice cream cones with pom poms. We used scoops to put the soft fluffy pom pom cones.

For our Skill Center we played a color matching game. We matched ice cream cones with scoops, Popsicles with sticks, and cupcakes with icing.

For our Fine Motor Center we served cookies. We used spatulas to lift cookies from cookie sheets onto plates and back again.

Reminders:

Week of November 9

It was another great week in Jumpstart!
Our color this week was BROWN.

We read A Porcupine Named Fluffy by Helen Lester.

For our Art Center we made a painting. We used fall colors of paint and pecans as our brushes.

For a Fine Motor Center we made our own Fluffy the Porcupine. We picked up pine needles and used glue to stick them to our porcupine.

For another Fine Motor Center we hammered golf tees into Styrofoam. We used toy hammers to tap the tees. This center was a big hit with our little ones.

For our Sensory Center we played with hot cocoa scented playdoh. We used the brown playdoh to make a porcupine. We picked up tooth picks and stuck them into our playdoh to make the spines.

Silly faces on the playground.

Our color next week is PINK.
If you are interested in having a parent teacher conference, please let us know so we can schedule something with you.

There will be no class the week of Thanksgiving.

Cereal donations are due in by the 18th.

Week of November 2

We celebrated fall this week!
Our color of the week was BROWN.
We read It's Fall by Linda Glaser.

At Circle Time we also played a color matching game. We each took turns putting different colors of fruit in the matching basket. One of our goals is for each of our students to name and recognize their colors by the end of the year.

For our Art Center this week we made a fall tree. We glued tiny hole punches in fall colors of red, orange, yellow, and brown to our tree picture. We really gave our pincher grasp a work out picking up the tiny dots.

For a Fine Motor center we made a Thanksgiving sticker craft. Those will be coming home to help you decorate for the holiday.

For our Sensory center we played in brown beans with brown pine needles.

For a Dramatic Play center we raked and picked up leaves. We used toy rakes and tweezers to pick up silk leaves and put them in a bucket. We were working on our fine motor skills while having fun playing.

Our little a ones are learning to stay seated for their snack. We pray first. After snack they clean up and throw their trash away.

We were happy to have nice weather to go to the playground. We love to watch their friendships blossom.

We've been having a lot of fun in our Music center singing and dancing to the Scarecrow song.

Our color next week is BROWN.
Our Star Students are Morgan and Tensley.
Remember to send in your orders for the Doodlesticks Fundraiser.
Invoices will be going home Monday. Sorry for the delay.
