Week of January 25

We are happy the snow is gone to we can get back to school this week!

Our shape this week is SQUARE.

During Circle Time we practiced sorting objects by color.

For our Art Center we glued square "snow" to our paper to make a snowman.

For our Sensory Center we played with cornstarch  snow dough.

For our Fine Motor Center we practiced squeezing plastic bottles. We used the air to blow our cotton balls across the table.

For our Skill Center we practiced snipping paper with scissors.

We have a field trip coming up to the Children's Museum. We will all meet there. Be sure to check the flier in your Heart binders.

Week of January 11

We had a short week here in Jumpstart, but we still managed to squeeze in a lot of fun and learning.

Our shape this week was CIRCLE.

We read the book Welcome Winter.

This month, we are learning that in the 5th day God made the birds in the sky and the fish in the sea.

For our Sensory Center we played more with our foam peanut "snow". Our little ones really enjoy digging.

For our Art Center we glued lace "snowflakes" to a blue circle.

For our Skill Center we continued to work on our scissor skills with playdoh snipping.

For our Fine Motor Center we practiced adding and removing cotton balls from a snowman bottle. These activities will help us with our agility.

Next week our shape is SQUARE.

Please remember there is no school on Monday due to the Martin Luther King Jr Day holiday.

Week of January 4

Welcome back to school!
We had a great first week back. We are so proud of our little ones and how well they made the transition back to school.

This week our shape was CIRCLE.

We read the 10 Shiny Snowflakes by Russell Julian.

We reviewed our colors with felt circles.

For our Sensory Center we played in foam peanut "snow"

For our Skill Center we started learning about scissors. We practiced snipping play dough with plastic scissors.

For our Art Center, we made mugs of hot cocoa. We glued them together with marshmallows, and added a label with our name. We will be continuing to learn more about recognizing our name over the next few months.

For our Fine Motor Center we made snowmen with felt and sticks.

We love books!

We enjoyed playing shape matching games.

Even though it's too cold to go outside, we still have lots of fun at recess.

Next week, out star students will be Sam and Elizabeth.
