This week was all about HEARTS and Valentine's Day!
Our shape this week was HEART.
We read the book Porcupine Valentine by Aaron Zenz.
For our Valentine Party we made a snack mix. All out friends took turns pouring in an ingredient and giving the mix a stir. Mini marshmallows were a big hit.
For our Art Center we made strawberries. We used a red heart and painted white fingerprint seeds. Then we added green hearts for the leaves.
For a Fine Motor Writing Center we traced the first letter of our name with dry erase markers.
We had fun passing out our Valentine treats for our friends!
For a Science Center we learned a little about tornados. We enjoyed watching a tornado in a bottle.
For a Fine Motor Center we practiced stretching pony ohs around a container. This was not easy work and took a lot of hand strength and dexterity. You can use everyday things to challenge your little one's fine motor skills.
For a Sensory Center we played in black beans and rice with valentine colored items.
We took advantage of a warm day to get out and chase some bubbles.
While we like getting outside, we can still have fun inside.
