Week of October 26

Happy Halloween!
Our color this week was ORANGE.

We read There Was an Old Woman Who Swallowed a Bat by Lucille Colandro and Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson.

For our Sensory Center we played in black beans with pretend spider webs.

For a Fine Motor Center we scooped Ghost Lima Beans into cups with small spoons.

For a Creative Center we made jack-o-lanterns out of felt.

For our Art Center we made Candy Corn. We glued tissue paper in white, yellow, and orange to a candy corn shape. Our little ones were very proud of their work!

We had lots of fun at our Halloween Parties!

We dressed each other up as mummies.

We practiced our gross motor hopping skills with a silly spider that was hiding under our rug.

We shared some of our favorite Halloween songs with our visitors.

Our color next week is BROWN.
Our Star Students are Kru and Emma.

There will be no school the week of Thanksgiving. Mrs. Andrea and Mrs. Lana will be available on Monday if you would like to have a parent teacher conference. Just let us know and we will work with you to schedule a time. Report cards will come home the week before Thanksgiving.

Week of October 19

Our color this week was ORANGE.

We read Monsters Love Underpants by Claire Freedman and Creepy Carrots by Aaron Reynolds.

We've  been enjoying some Halloween songs.

For our Sensory Center we made playdoh monsters. We used orange scented playdoh and added eyes, a mouth, arms, and horns to make our own silly monsters.

For a Fine Motor Center we added Google eyes to monsters. Each monster had a certain number of eyes.

For a Skill Center we matched colored Pom poms to the spots on our monster mats.

For our Art Center we glued all sorts of things to our orange monster. We love all the funny faces!

We had some nice weather this week, so we made sure to enjoy some fun on the playground. Our little ones love spotting butterflies and other bugs outside.

We are making lots of progress on lining up as a class. We stand up straight and tall when we walk in the hall. We hold our hands behind our back, use our walking feet, and follow the leader. That's a lot to remember, but we are getting better every day!

Next week our color is ORANGE.
Our Star Students are Hart and Chandler.
We will have A Halloween party on Wed & Thurs at 10:30. Parents are invited to attend. Little ones are welcome to wear costumes, just please be sure they are bathroom friendly.
