Week of March 19

We got a head start on Easter this week. Our shape was OVAL.

For our Art Center we made funny bunny faces.

For our Sensory Center we played in colored rice.

For our Fine Motor Center we stacked circles to make a rabbit hole. When we dropped the rabbit down the hole we got to hear him go plink, plink plink all the way down.

For another Fine Motor Center we stacked egg shells. We tried to see how tall we could stack them before they fell.

We also had fun playing with Squigz!

We had Pajama Day to celebrate Day 7 of creation. God looked at all he had made and said, "It is good!" Then, he rested.

We might need to start a Jumpstart ball team!

Week of March 12

We are SO ready for spring. We were all about rainbows this week.

For our Art Center we made rainbows. We used dot bottles to paint with liquid water colors to paint. We used glue sticks to stick cotton balls on for the clouds.

For our Fine Motor Center we strung Fruit Loops on pipe cleaners. Some of them might have gotten eaten.

For our Skill Center we sorted shapes. We sorted them by Triangle and Not a Triangle.

The Library Lady came this week. We love her visits. We made sure to give her lots of hugs!

We are working on some things that will help our little ones as they get ready for Preschool next year. Here are a few things you can work on at home to help them:
  • encourage them to practice zipping and unzipping their backpacks
  • have them put on their own coat. An easy way to learn is to put the hood on their head so they can reach the arm holes easier.
  • encourage them to put their backpack on by themselves.
All of these are great skills for independence as well as good fine and gross motor practice.
