Week of November 14

Our color this week was BROWN.

We read the book Brown Bear, Brown Bear by Eric Carle.

For our Skill Center we worked on our color matching. We matched plastic bears to pattern cards.

For our Fine Motor Center we strung Honeycomb Cereal, We used plastic cord to lace the cereal.

For our Art Center we paints fuzzy bears. We used brown paint and forks to paint our bear faces.

For our Sensory Center we played in brown beans and dry leaves.

We had some teddy bear fun this week. We put blankets on the floor and dressed our stuffed friends in clothes and shirts.

Our color after thanksgiving break will be GREEN.

Week of November 7

Our color this week was Brown.

We read the book Fall Leaves by Mary Packard.

Our Star Students were very proud.

For our Art Center we made a fall tree picture. We glued small red, orange, yellow, and brown circles to our tree and ground. It took lots of concentration to pick up those tiny circles.

We also worked on another page for our Creation Book. On day 3, God made the land and the sea. We finger painted with blue paint to make our sea. Later, we will add the land.

For our Sensory Center we played in brown beans with dried leaves.

For our Fine Motor Center we  collected silk leaves using tweezers. We gathered them and put them in baskets. Our little ones did a great job of working the tweezers.

Just look at us learning to walk in a line!

Our color next week is BROWN.

Report cards will be coming home next week. We have time available on Monday, November 21, for parent teacher conferences. Please, let us know if you would like a conference.

Week of October 31

Our color this week was ORANGE.

We read the book. The Pumpkin Gospel by Mary Manz Simon.

We added a new slide to the playground this week. It was a big attraction. We all practiced waiting our turn and going one at a time.

For our Sensory Center we played in a pumpkin. We used spoons to scoop out the seeds. Our little ones liked digging, but they all agreed the seeds were very slimy.

For our Play Center we raked leaves. We dumped silk leaves on the floor. We used rakes to gather them up and put them in buckets.

For our Art Center we strung beads to make a pumpkin. We put orange beads on a green pipe cleaner. We made a pumpkin and added a leaf with our name. Our little ones got a fine motor work out with this activity. It is hard work getting those beads on. They stuck with it and did a great job.

For our Fine Motor Center we added leaves to trees. We used pipe cleaner trees. We added fall color buttons for leaves.

Our Monday/Wednesday class had their Halloween party this week. We had lots of fun with our guest visitors. Thank you all for coming.

Reminder: there will be no Jumpstart or Toddler Time classes on November 8 due to voting happening in the building.

Our color not week is BROWN. 

We will be doing assessments over the next 2 weeks. Report cards will go home before Thanksgiving break. Mrs Alivia and I will be available on Monday November 21 for Teacher conferences. This is optional, so please let us know if you would like to request one.
