Week of April 23

Our Shape this week was STAR. We sang Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

For our Skill Center we practiced our scissor skills "cutting the grass". Our little ones loved snipping the paper. We learned that our thumb goes in the small hole and our fingers go in the large hole. Our thumb always stays on top. Sometimes we draw a smiley or a frog on their thumb to remind them to keep it up.

For a Fine Motor Center we practiced our coloring. We are working on a book that includes lots of the things we learned this year. Our little ones can practice with their book over the summer. It has colors, shapes, counting, weather types, and the days of creation.

For our Science Center we played with magnets. We had a jar with a flower and some pipe cleaner "caterpillars". We used a magnet to move around the caterpillars.

For our Sensory Center we played in black beans. We had colored bugs in there for sorting.

We had a special Field Trip this week. We traveled across the street to visit the Preschool. We got to go in the classrooms and meet the teachers. It was too muddy for the playground, but we got to play in the gym instead. Our Wednesday class even got to attend the big kid Chapel service. That was their favorite part!

We loved being able to spend some time outside this week!

Week of April 16

Our shape this week was Diamond.

For our Art Center we made flowers with diamonds. We practiced using our glue sticks. Just a dab will do!

For a Skill Center we worked on coloring shapes for our end of the year book.

For a Fine Motor Center we made flower arrangements. We put flower stems in the wholes of a colander to work on our hand eye coordination.

For our Sensory Center we played in plastic grass. We had colored bugs hidden in the grass. We searched for the bugs and sorted them by color.

The library ladies visited us for the last time this week. We love our stories and dancing!
