Week of October 3

This week our color was YELLOW.

We read the book Giraffes Can't Dance by Giles Andreae.

At Circle Time we played a counting game. We took turns rolling a large dice and then counted the dots together. Every day we count to 10 as a group. Our Star Student gets to choose a number and then we also count those items as well. Our goal by the end of the year is for our little ones to count to 10 and to count 5 items. They are doing a great job.

One of our favorite Circle Time videos is counting yellow bananas with The Bananas Song.

For our Art Center we made yellow giraffes. We worked on our glue stick skills to place all the pieces together. We used brown paint and our finger tips to add the spots.

For our Play Center we played with a zoo. We matched the animals to their letter and picture. We practiced animal sounds and sharing with our friends.

For our Fine Motor Center we put together 3D lion and giraffe puzzles.

For our Sensory Center we played in our bin of corn kernels. We used tools to scoop and pour. We shared with our friends and tried to keep the corn in the bin.

On Tuesday, we had an exciting visit from the Scott Township Fire Department. Our little ones were excited to see the trucks and firemen. They were even able to get inside the fire truck and rescue vehicle.

Our color next week is BLACK.

Our Star Student next week is Carter.
