We read If You're Spooky and You Know It by Aly Fronis.
For a Fine Motor Center we hammered golf tee "nails" into a pumpkin. We worked on our hand eye coordination as we pounded with our mallets.
For another Fine Motor Center we made a mummy. We tore pieces of masking tape to wrap our black mummy. Tearing paper or tape is a great fine motor activity. It requires strength of the small muscles of the hand. These intrinsic muscles are important in skills such as writing, coloring, managing buttons and zippers, and more.
For our Sensory Center we played in Corn with black bow tie pasta "bats".
For another Fine Motor Center we laced Halloween shapes.
We had a great time at our Halloween party! We made a pumpkin patch painting with our fingers. We made our own snack mix. We played a game with our friends and wrapped some of the parents up as a mummy. We ended the party with a few of our Halloween songs. Thanks for everyone who came or brought treats!
Class pictures are coming home, so please be sure to check your binder!
Mrs. Kristie and I are so lucky to have such a great bunch of little ones in our classes!
