Week of September 2

Our color this week was RED.
Our science theme this month is bugs.

For our Art Center we made ladybugs. We stamped RED circles on our paper 1, 2, 3. Then we glued black dots on... 6 for each ladybug was our goal. Our little ones used their pincher grasp to pick up the dots and carefully place them on the glue. They turned out so cute!

For an Outdoor Learning Center we played with our water table. Our little ones love this activity so much. Water play is more then just fun. It is a great sensory experience. Water play gives children opportunity to work on hand eye coordination. They also learn problem solving skills. Of course, they have a lot of fun too!

For another Outdoor Learning Center we played with bubbles. Our little ones got to see the bubbles form, watch the colors swirl in the sun, and see the wind carry them away.

For our Skill Center we colored a picture of a ladybug. We are working on our hand control and transitioning to a tripod grasp to get our hands strong to prepare for writing later on.

Mrs. Kristie helped our little ones work on their Bug Jar for this month. We are using our finger prints to keep track of all the bugs we are learning about this month.

We sing lots of songs in Jumpstart. We sing finger play songs with hand motions as well as dancing to songs. Here are a couple of our favorites.

We start our Circle Time each day by holding hands with our friends and singing this song.

Of course, Baby Shark is a favorite. We make a shark with our hand and chomp his mouth open and closed. This strengthens our hand muscles and grasp.
