Our Science Theme this month is Birds.
We had a short week and our first snow day. Our little ones shared how they played in the snow on Tuesday.
We read the book Brown Bear Brown Bear by Eric Carle. We pretended to be the characters of the story during Circle Time.
For our Art Center we painted a turkey. We used different kinds of paint brushes to paint yellow, orange, and BROWN on a paper plate to make the tail. We glued eyes, beak, and waddle on a BROWN turkey head. The little ones all got to pick their own eye combination. They choose some super fun combinations.
For our Fine Motor Center we worked on more bean sorting. It requires a good pincher grasp to pick up those tiny beans. In addition we played with loose parts.
For our Skill Center we played with color and animal matching cards from our story.
For another Fine Motor Center we connected Bear Cookies. They snap together, but you have to line them up just right. It is great visual coordination and fine motor practice.
Sharing books with our friends.
