Week of November 4

Our color this week was PINK and PURPLE.
Our Science theme this month is Birds.

For a Science Center during Circle Time we learned about feathers. We talked about how they help birds to fly. We looked at the feathers under a magnifying glass. We also tested different kinds of feathers to see which ones float longer.

We read the book PINK. It's about a PINK penguin who feels like he doesn't fit in.

For our Art Center we made PINK and PURPLE birds. We used crayons to color our nest. Then we glued on the body, wing, and beak. We also added some eggs to our nest.

For our Fine Motor Center we sorted different kinds of seeds. We tried to separate them in different spaces on our tray.

For a Science Center we explored bird's nests. We made a nest with birds and eggs.

For our Skill Center we played with color matching birds and nests. We tried to match the mom and baby birds to the right color nest.

We had visits from the library lady this week.

We also had a surprised reader. Mrs. Nicki stopped by during snack one day. Our little ones begged her to read them another book. She read one of their favorite Pete the Cat books.
