Week of September 17

Our color this week was BLUE. Please encourage your little one to help pick out things that are blue around the house or when you are out.

Our books were The Little Blue Truck and The Little Blue Truck Leads the Way by Alice Schertle.

Our Star Students have been great helpers at Circle Time! We are working on singing our ABCs as one of our goals for the year.

Our little ones have come a long way so far on learning our classroom rules and procedures.
  • We Listen to our teachers - Our teachers are here to play with us, teach us, and keep us safe.
  • We take care of our friends - We only use kind and gentle hands with our friends. We share toys and take turns. We have fun with our friends.
  • We take care of ourselves- We use walking feet in the classroom. We sit on our bottoms in our chair. We play safely at recess. Only teachers close and open doors at school. Only teachers move chairs at school.
  • We take care of our school - We play nicely with toys. We are gentle with our books. We put away our toys when we are done. We throw our trash in the trashcan. We clean up our tables.
You can easily use these same rules for your home and family.

For our Art Center we painted Little Blue Trucks. We used glue stick to put our trucks on the paper. Then, we used brown paint and our fingers to dirty up our trucks. In the story, Little Blue Truck gets stuck in the mud. Our little ones did a great job of making their trucks muddy!

For our Skill Center, we matched pom poms colors to the colors of trucks. We are continuing to work on our hand strength with chunky tweezers.

For our Sensory Center we drove our trucks through brown and black "mud" playdoh.

For our Play Center, we drove blue cars and trucks in black beans. We also worked on taking turns and sharing with our friends.

We love to watch our little ones when they pray before snack. It's so sweet!

We also love watching sweet friendships form.
